Default Im New and in need of motivation!

Hiya all

Well this is me! Im 29 and from Dundee, scotland. I have a LOT of weight to lose and have just joined Slimming world, this is my first week and my weigh in is on wednesday. Be great to chat to others that are going through the same thing as I have tried so many times to lose weight and failed.

Welcome to 3FC!

This is a great place for support and information (there are so many wise people here who know so much about being healthy and losing weight) but unfortunately you'll have to bring your own motivation. Although, for me, seeing so many people who have lost weight and kept it off was great motivation. But day to day it's still on you to do the heavy lifting.

All I can say is, it is really worth it!

Welcome! This is a good place to start to look for motivation. There are SO many successful people and everyone is here to support you when you need it.

I'm also 29 so I'm sure we have SOMETHING in common, if you'd ever like to PM me.

And I like the carrot too!!!

Thank you both I am determined I am going to do it this time, I am so fed up of being fat and unhealthy so I really need to do something!

I have the goal of next august which is when I turn 30, I am planning to go on holiday with my husband for 3 weeks and want to be much much thinner by then.

What plans are you both following or are you just healthy eating?

I just joined this forum today and started a weight loss program yesterday -so I am also looking for support and encouragement. I am from the U.S. and am on a medically supervised high protein/low carb diet. I haven't been overly hungry for which I am most grateful -but I am well aware that this is going to be an uphill battle. Please keep me/us informed of your progress and let me know when/if you need any on-line support/encouragement -I'll try to help if I can...

Just read about your weight loss journey -many kudos to you!! I just began yesterday and am looking forward to that strong feeling of motivation that usually kicks in after the 1st weigh-in -hope you're still doing /feeling well and thanks for sharing so much! I'm just dipping my toe at this time...
