Talking Jamie from Apex, NC...pushing forward..

Hi!

I would just like to introduce myself and see if any other newbies or members of groups can recommend a motivating group to be a part of. I have been counting ww points for about a month and lost 11 lbs, which is just fantastic. I have never dieted in my entire life because I have always philosophically been against the culture that forced women to remain and want to always be thin.

Yes, I am a feminist.

However, I have gained 60 lbs in the last two years and I HAVE to get it off. My health is suffering...sleep apnea, insulin resistance, pcos....yup, yup, yup.

I have emotional eating difficulties and I have to face all of this and make lifestyle changes.

I am not here to diet, I am here to hopefully make some friends who can support each other through frustrations and mistakes. (We all make them)

Thanks for reading!

Hey there, and

There are a TON of folks here who are not losing or maintaining weight due to vanity/societal reasons, but for health reasons. There are others who have different goals, too. Losing weight for your health is GREAT, feminist or not. It will make you stronger!

We have several forums you may want to check out - we have a PCOS/Insulin Resistance forum in the "Dieting with Obstacles" area, a "Weight Watchers" forum for those on your program, the "100 Lb Club" for those looking to lose or who have lost 100 lbs or more. Any or all might be a great fit for you.

We also have a lot of challenges and miscellaneous groups popping up.

So jump on it, get to posting anywhere and everywhere that strikes you, and keep going. on your success so far, and I can't wait to get to know you better!
