I signed up sometime at the ending of 2008 but I've gained about 50 pounds since then and I haven't been here for a long time so I think I should reintroduce myself. I don't know. When I started here I was doing WW, then I quit going because it was too expensive and it was hard to track what I was tasting when I was working in the kitchen. I then started a low-carb diet per advice of a guy I working with that had lost 180 pounds, and I did well until I gained it all back. I've gained so much, and have done so much to my body, that I don't even know where to start. I don't even know which diet to do, or whatever, to get this weight finally off. I started when I weighed 275 and now I weigh 325, if not more. I'm not trying to be SUCH a horrible downer, but I've come back to the forum to get some support and some much much needed guidance and advice.
Hi! I'm right there with you...I've probably been on and off this forum almost since it began (have long since forgotten the first screen name and password) and I'm at least fifty pounds heavier. I've been up a lot more (pregnant!) and down thirty, forty pounds - several times...and right back up again.
I'm back. I'm still trying. I'm still trying to figure it out.
Welcome back. Right now, I'm just counting calories. I know it works and I can tweak it as I go along. And I'm using the WATP DVDs because they're a good place to start at my (greatly reduced) fitness level.
Awwh. I'm glad you're back too! We can totally do this...again. What are WATP videos? Have you ever counted calories before? ANy recommendations? Congrats on the 7 pound weight loss!
beautiful, I never have been successful on a structured diet.. they are too strict for me and I hate feeling like I cant have something I want, it tends to make me want it even more..lol
I started counting calories on sept 4th and have lost 13 pounds to date.
Between calorie counting, cutting out sweets/soda and adding more vegetables/fruit to my diet, its made me really look at what I am eating and I find myself chosing healthier foods because I want to, not because I have to.
I wish you well in whatever plan you chose.... you can do it.
@alwaysbeachin Thanks. I have been thinking of going back to that considering it's free.
@islandchick1, i'm an island chick too! well half at least, i'm half samoan. and thanks for the welcome back.
@onederchic, after reading your story, I'm pretty stoked you commented on my thread! wow! talk about an inspiration, i hope i have a story to share like that in the future. question, how do you track? and what do you do to make things easier, does it even get easier?
I personally put weight loss off for so long because, frankly, it confused and overwhelmed me. I knew the basic concept of eat less, move more, but it seemed like to have any success with it you had to follow a complicated plan. I discovered calorie counting, and I'm smacking myself in the forehead for not doing it earlier. It's so obvious, easy, versatile, and so on. For me, it was a no brainer.
Anyways, I just mention it since you said you weren't sure which plan to follow. I wish you success no matter how you go about it. And I'll look forward to seeing your progress!!
Welcome back and best wishes for a ton of success! I find that when I stick around here and log in at least once per day that I have a tendency to stay on track. You will find everything you need on here as far as weight loss advice, tips, info about various diets and workout programs and an abundance of support and kindness. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. You can do this....have a little faith in yourself. Btw, congratulations on your loss so far!!!

You are not a downer to me. Sometimes I look at all the beautiful, skinny moms at ballet class for the kids or at PTO functions and I think I am the only one that struggles with this year end and year out. It is comforting to me that I am not. But, we do all need to band together and help each other. No one understands like someone who has walked in the same shoes! Good luck and blessings!
