New but old with questions
Hi, I'm JeanneV, 70 years old and weigh 190 pounds and still fighting weight issues. Have had thyroid removed due to cancer 4 years ago and am borderline diabetic and have high blood pressure. Am active and consider myself ok for my age, work hard physically and stay busy. Am on meds for all my health issues but would like to get off, etc. I am considering the Ideal Protein diet as recommended by my chiropractor. Have been on every diet in my years including Fen-Phen. Am 5'4" and have weighed 140 to 200. Know all about dieting but concern at this time in my life is that I don't want to cause medical issues with high protein diet, so am considering staying on for 30 days to see if it affects kidneys, etc. Am discussing with my Internist this week but wondered if other members have had similar issues and have been successful with this diet. I recently started using a diabetic drink called Almased once per day (has low Glycemic Index) and definitely increased my entergy and reduced appetite, then this diet came along. Anybody with some feedback. Glad to join your forum.
