Well, I was never a skinny child, but never overweight either. I was just normal.
Till highschool. That year my parents separated, I moved away with mom, started eating unhealthy stuff in school and also stress overeating at home. During that first year I moved from normal to just slightly overweight. And then begins the vicious circle. I started dieting with a fairly overweight friend, and dieting consisted of eating very small amounts of food, pretty much starving ourselves. A first few pounds came of and then I started counting calories and eating 1200-1300kCal a day, sometimes even lower. And within two months I've lost about 15lbs. I was sixteen than and I weighted the same I weighted when I was 10-11 years old. 1200kCal per day was not nearly enough for me since I am 5'9˝ and back then I was an active basketball player. Still, I wasnt skinny, I think I've lost quite a bit muscle mass back then and I still was not satisfied with how I looked in the mirror.
And then, as you can guess, the jo-jo efect did its magic, and I started binging 2-3 times a week and it two years my weight went 50lbs up.
Thank God, I then gathered enough strenght and went from my heaviest of 187lbs to 167lbs and it took me 7 months of going slow and steady.
That was in April and since then I am sliping back into the binging behaviour and I believe I've gained about 5lbs back.
Its time to stop it! So I've read a great book, Tom Venuto's Body Fat Solution and I am going to start following that program, not as a diet but as a lifestyle. I just have to do it now, my self esteem is starting to suffer, and also my body, I am 5'9¨but I am small-framed and already about 170 my knees begin to ache and my blood presure is elevated which is not normal for an 18year-old. So I have to do this.
I am looking forward to chating with you all and I promise I'm going to be an active forum member, I need support and I am ready to give some!
Oh and I plan to start seriously in about a month cause I first want to try to control my binges and come back to 'normal' and then change my lifestyle slowly, I have done it fast many times, and it was very short-lived, so this time I'm all slow and steady!

Welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.
Welcome! I'm new here, as well. I'm glad to see you know your weaknesses and are taking steps to improve them. I would definitely agree that slow and steady is best because losing weight and maintaining it really takes a lifestyle change, not just a diet. Good luck in reaching your goals. You can do it, girl!
Yvonne is such a beautiful name. I'm new to the forums, but have been working at being healthier for the past few months. I wish you all the good luck in reaching your goals!
Thank you all very much!
You made me feel really welcome!
This is my official Day 3 of healthier life style and being binge free, and as of tommorow I am starting 30 days shred and posting on the forum, since I haven't been online over the weekend
