Have you ever tried Sparkpeople? There is a bit of set up with it but once you've set up a profile with your goals, the site will make meal plans for you and you're able to input the type of meals, vegetarian, etc. for your preferences. It will also keep the menus within a certain calorie goal as well.

I have found that calorie counting works best for me. I am able to slightly modify meals to suit both myself and Husband and Son. As a sidebar it is resulting in my being able to learn portion control. Example, what a serving size actually is compared to what I used to think it looked like. good luck!
