Smile I am new to this site

Good Evening All,

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I am a 46 year old lady originally from CA with pit stops in SC, TN, FL, TN, VA, DE and then back to TN where we are currently living. My husband works for a crazy company with wierd hours so I spend a lot of time alone.

I decided to sign up for 3 Fat Chicks thanks to a fellow member and after seeing a picture of myself on horseback. I already knew that I was not exactly the most skinny person on the planet but that picture sealed the deal.

I have joined a ladies work out facility where I will start exercising after permission from my doctor is given. I have a problem with an old ankle injury and a recent trip to the ER due to kidney stones. So hopefully by the end of August, 2010, I will be cleared to start that.

I also need to learn how to "eat right". That is probably what will be the hardest part for me. I am an emotional, bored and insert any other word eater. There has been quite a few reasons to be stressed over the last two years (although my weight was on before that) and my constant friend has been food.

I am considering doing a low carb diet and drinking plenty of water. A friend told me that putting one tablespoon of vinegar in my room temp water in the morning should help start me on the path to all good things. I will see if I can stomach that one.

Anyways, that is me in a nutshell. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me. We are planning on going to Disney World in November of this year and then a cruise in November of 2011. I would love to be at my goal weight by the cruise.

Hi Lisa Marie and welcome!

I lost all my weight low-carbing and I love it. Used Atkins, which is my favorite and IMO, the best low-carb plan out there. We have a nice Atkins forum included in the low-carb area of the board here....if you are interested.

I'm not sure about the apple cider vinegar thing but do know that Braggs (the one who sells the liquid aminos) makes a nice healthy apple cider vinegar you can buy at health food stores.

Good luck.....and hope I may see you in the Atkins/low-carb area.

Welcome to the forum! My suggestion for eating is always to do something to lose that you can do forever. It's the most successful for those that maintain and it just makes sense right? So if you think you can eat low carb forever, give it a try but I encourage you to read around here and see if anything else might feel right for you.

All the best.
