Hello everyone!
I am glad to come upon this forum during my search for a weight loss support.
I am a 33 years old Middle Eastern woman, I have been struggling with obesity since I've been 22 years old. I was quite active when I was young and I always maintained a good weight for my height, I was full of life and I had so many admirers growing up and entering my 20's. However I had a hormones disorder which I was treating and because of it I have put on 15lbs and I couldn't get rid of it, which caused me depression, I locked myself in my room and did not want to see anyone, years has passed and my weight gained more and more and after 5 years of my depression I started to go out, try to accept myself, try to do something about, it was very hard and until this day I feel it is hard.
5 years ago I went on a diet through a dietitian program starting weight was 281lbs and lost about 46lbs in 4 months which was a wonderful feeling at that time, the diet was very restricted and became very boring with time, I was hoping the doctor would change it for me but he decided that I should continue with the same menu every single day for another month, just being sick with the same food every single day it discouraged me to continue so I quit the program and have put on more weight than I ever been through the past 5 years I reached 297lbs.
I lived with that weight feeling depressed, I don't eat much, I don't snack I only eat 3 meals a day and still manage to gain weight. I am a photographer and I work 8 straight hours with just a break of 20 mins means every few hours and it still did not make me loss weight.
I went to Japan in May for work and stayed there for about 20 days, I remember walking for hours and eating Japanese food helped me loss few pounds, I did not buy any soft drinks or sweets or anything during my trip and when I have returned back home I realized that I have lost at least 8lbs, that itself did motivate me to continue. I have changed my whole diet, I've started counting calories which helped me reduce the portion of the meals I used to consume on daily basis, the first month I have dropped 11lbs and now entering the second month and I have lost 22lbs, the road to my weight goal is still very long but I am willing to continue and change my life to a better one, so I am hoping to find all the support I need from everyone who going through the same phase.
Thank you so much for your time
