New here and looking for a weightloss buddy

  • Well, my name is Becki, and I'm obviously new here lol . I'm currently at my highest weight ever, and going into the doctor's office and having her tell me my weight was a low point for me. I went home and cried. Two years ago, I was at my lowest weight. Maintaining at 134, which was amazing I felt incredible. Stress increased at my job and the scale started working double time. Luckily I'm in a much better place at work and now have time to devote to a healthier life style. My short term goal is to make it to the 180's and my long term goal is to be around 120-140, which is normal for my height.

Anyway, I've started Level 1 Day 2 of Jillian Michael's 30 day shred today. My legs are feeling like jello and it amazes me that after the 20 minutes are up, I do feel like I got a pretty great work out. I'm going to try to do that once a day (preferrably morning) then 20-30 minutes on the treadmill at night.

    Good luck to everyone!
  • Good luck and welcome!

  • Welcome
We are glad you are here. I can relate about the doc office, I wouldn't let them tell me what i weighed and I always weighed backwards. I finally told them I didn't want to be weighed. For me that was a slow wake up call that i needed to watch what I was eating.

Please keep us updated on your progress

  • It was definitely an embarassing moment, I tried not to even get weighed, I knew I'd gained a lot of weight and really didn't need to be told about it, but it was definitely a kick in the pants. I'd really like to get back to my smallest, the amount of weight I've gained in two years is thoroughly disgusting to me.

But it's better late than never to start a lifestyle change! Out of curiousity what is everyone doing as their form of exercise? I used to go to a gym, but finding the time to go hasn't been easy, working fulltime and going to school fulltime. I've started 30 day Shred as a kick start myself and am going to incorporate my manual treadmill & my bowflex.

BTW thanks for the warm welcomes
