Good afternoon, everyone

First of all I would like to say that I found a lot of the stories on this board to be encouraging and I can relate to many of the post I have read on here. I would like to introduce myself and learn from you all and gain support on my mission to a better me. I am a 26 year old newlywed living in the Midwest -- many, many miles from my family who are generally obese. Of course I picked up all their bad eating habits and lifestyle. Over the years I have gained and lost, gained and lost many pounds and I am fed up with it. I don't want to do this to myself anymore. I have tried many different plans and I this time I just want to rewire my brain and learn healthier habits and just a new lifestyle. I don't want to count points or have "diet" food delivered to my house this time.

My plan as of now is to eat sensibly, trying to stay in the 1700 calorie range, which will be a huge shock to my body as it is. That number just seems "doable" to me. I also plan on exercising most days of the week and hopefully learning to actually *enjoy* physical activity. lol.

As I said I am 26 years old. I am currently 275 pounds and 5 foot 9. My goal weight is 170.

Thanks again to everyone who inspired me this morning. I wish to have my success story to share one of these days.[/FONT]

Welcome Susie! I too found a lot of support on this website. Sounds like you are off to a great start by figuring out what is "doable" at this time. I started out slow - began working on my eating habits first, then as I became comfortable with that, I began working out. The third phase was hiring a personal trainer to kick my butt and make me do the workouts I need to do, rather than what I didn't mind doing. One year later, I'm still working with the trainer and beginning to enjoy the time I have working out.

Best of luck to you and meeting your goals!
