Default Almost Back Where I Started

Back in 2004, I was at my heaviest ever, 250 pounds. Over a period of 2 years, I managed to lose 50 pounds. Some of it started creeping back in 2009. Things were not helped was by family estrangement (long story) last summer and surgery for a bunion last fall. Cardio was off the menu for a bit and I completely lost motivation. Then there were the holidays and a long winter.

I'm still having trouble with motivation, but I recently weighed in at 240. That was enough to get me back into some action. I'm still having trouble with motivation. And I'm annoyed it myself for letting my weight creep back up. But since kicking my own a** won't burn calories, I'm trying to look at the postitive.

I've made it to the gym 2x this week, aiming for a total of 4x this week. While the last 10 minutes of the 30 minutes on the elliptical were a challenge, It was better than when I first started in 2004. I couldn't stand on an elliptical for that long and I could only last 15 minutes on an exercise bike at first.

Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Welcome. I too have lost and then regained in the past. Penguin has a great point. Finding accountabilty help here rocks!!! I'm in the July weight loss challenge, Biggest Loser Challenge and a Back to School Challenge. Every one has me pushing and reaching (and very very sore) and its been the best thing in my own personal recorded history for staying on track.

In fact, I use to tend to give up after losing about 10 lbs. So part of my July Weight loss challenge was just to stay ON. And I'm rockin.

You can do this. I'd say you have a great starting point since you have an idea of what works for you!!! Run with it. YOU are sooo worth it!! I can not wait to read more from you.
