I'm new to this forum and forums in general. I am looking for people who can help me with my dieting isuues. I have been yo yo dieting for years and want to get it doen once and for all. Hoping support will help.

I know I shouldn't care but I have to admit I do. Mostly because I get looks and comments all the time, as if people are entitled to judge me by my size. I am not fat by choice, I have been working to lose weight for years and have succeeded at times. I mainly just want to blend in. What's wrong with that?

chubby, the first step is to realize the people who judge you by your size are not not worth the ice cream i spilt on my shirt at dinner tonight. besides, you assume their looking at you in a bad way. maybe not. haven't you ever heard of a chubby chaser? what I'm saying is don't assume they're looking at you is all bad.

Well, I never thought of the chubby chaser angle, I suppose that's possible but I honestly find that women are the worst. My psychobabble answer is that they are projecting how horrified they would be if they were my size. I know I'm overweight but I don't think I disgusting but these people make me feel like a freak. Heaven forbid I say anything back to them. Anyway, enough whining. For my own reasons I am ready to lose it all and have determined that tomorrow AM is the start of my new life. I refuse to "diet" so I am just going to make better choices, choices that will make me healthy and strong. Wish me luck!!

sweetie, you have to quit worrying about what other women think - that's their problem not yours. if you want to lose based on your needs, then may the force be with you and may you live long and prosper. and dont wait until tomorrow, start tonight by skipping the ice creme and chocolate! Remember, all fr one and one for all!

Thanks for the encouragement. Today is day one and so far so good, breakfast and lunch went well. I am feeling really ready to make these changes permanent. Congratulations on the non-smoking, how did you do it?

I'm one of those people that think people are judging me by my weight too. I used to even think my parents judged me because my two sisters were thinner than I was. Just hang in there and try to remember, its there problem if they judge you, not yours.

Us ladies can be pretty nasty sometimes. I think that gives us a great opportunity though, to learn to sit back with a quiet confidence no matter what is being said or what looks are being thrown our way. It is frustrating when you're ticked off to have the person you're mad at not react, or worse, walk away smiling. Good luck with your goals
