Default Small Changes

Hello there!

I just started my weight loss journey on 4/14, which is when I joined this site.
I decided to start with small, achievable goals and make regular sustainable changes to my lifestyle so I don't go crazy and give up (again)!

I thought it would be fun to start a thread that captures some of the small lifestyle changes we're making every day, so we can track this progress and realize what all these small changes add up to!

I'll start:

4/18- Cleaned out kitchen- got rid of processed foods.
4/19- Gave up soda (including diet soda). Went grocery shopping and bought 10% organics (instead of none)
4/20- Started tracking calories in/ out. Had a 300 calorie deficit!!

i make little goals for myself every week! like "This week i will only take the stairs to work, not the elevator" and "This week i will get up a half hour earlier and go for a walk" they are healthy choices but i don't feel burdened like i have to do them forever!

That's awesome!

I like the idea of keeping track of the date you decided to make a change for good. Like:
4/21- vowed to walk 30 minutes every day, no matter what.

My hope is that it keeps me motivated, knowing that I am making small, positive changes every day!

Plus, I like having a diary to look back on- some day I'll say 'gosh no wonder I was so overweight in 2010, I drank soda and ate fast food etc. etc. etc...'

We'll see!

If anyone else wants to join my little game, please post!
