Default hi all

My name is Amber, I am 26 years old and a I am sick of what I see when I look in the mirror. Basicaly, I don't see me anymore. I have always been overweight, but since I had my son 6 years ago I have gained a tremendous amount of weight. I weighted 180 before my son was born, but I felt like I looked fine, now I just don't even recognize the person in the mirror at 275. I've started going to the fitness center at my hospital, since its free to employees and started dieting. I'm trying 30 minutes workouts every other day to get started, and bought some cook books that give recipes of regular food just cooked healthier. I really need some encouragment though, my husband says he's going to go at it with me (he's gained even more than I have since we have been together), but he's not really trying, and I really need people that are actually facing my struggle to talk to.

Hi Amber! Welcome, and good luck. Sounds like you're off to a great start with the working out, and trying to eat healthier foods. Hopefully your husband will really get on board with you soon. You'll find lots of people here to talk to, as well.

Hi Amber! My name is Emily and I'm new to this forum. I feel your pain, somewhat. I just turned 28 and am so sick of not fitting into my clothes. I am tired of seeing my pants fitting too tight. I am 216 now and have decided (again) to lost about 60 pounds. I also need better encouragement. My boyfriend says he will work out with me and help me eat right. But he weighs about 170 pounds and wants to gain weight! It's like a double negative...having one person trying to eat less and lose, while the other is stuffing his face. It's simply not fair! I have tried a few times in the past to lose weight and was successful, only to give up after a couple months. I lost about 20 pounds each time, only to gain it back (and then some). I'm officially at my heaviest I've ever been. So I'm really hoping and praying that this time I will stay motivated to lose this weight. Good luck to you!
