  • Not even sure how I managaed to find this forum, but I am so thankful I did! I've been lurking for a few days and the forum looks so informative.

My name is Andrea, I'm 32 and life is pretty good besides the extra 100 lbs I'm carrying!

I have a goal to get back into shape. I haven't been in shape and "healthy" since 2000 - the year our 1st daughter was born. Before I was pregnant, I weighed about 170 (even then I could have eaten healthier and been in better shape!) At 170, I was comfy for my lifestyle at the time.

Fast forward ten years, 2 kids later and almost 100 pounds heavier. (263lbs) When I realized I had gained almost 100 lbs I nearly passed out. Why did I let that happen?! I saw the signs...clothes didn't fit, snoring, feeling terrible and tired all the time....and many more. But it's time to change. My attitude is ready -my body is aching and sore but we are pushing on! My goal is many baby steps of 5-10lbs with the ultimate goal at 150.

I've got a geat plan going already and am really looking for an awesome support group!
  • Andrea. This is a great site for support of all kinds for pretty much everything you may face on this journey. Check out the success stories. I've been here awhile (mostly as a lurker) and just started exploring the Goal section a couple of days ago.

Post often and best of luck on this journey.
  • Hello, Andrea, and welcome. It is shocking how the weight can just creep on, isn't it? I am glad you are joining us and I wish you the best on your weight loss journey!

    Cheers,

    J
  • Hi Andrea!
Hey, we've all done it whether it's being in denial or what but it sounds like you're ready to get going on a healthier you, no looking back, no beating yourself up, just moving forward - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try 30 somethings, the 100lb club and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
