Default Hellooooo!

Hey everyone.. i'm new here.. and so just decided to post and mention a bit about myself:

I'm a 20 year old student living in Vancouver, BC. I have always struggled with my weight, due to a lot of stress. I was in an unhealthy relationship with someone, and during that time I probably put on a few pounds.. I broke that off for good. I am now in a much healthier relationship, and my boyfriend supports me when I want to lose weight, although he's fine with the way I am.
Recently, I lost my mom to cancer (just over a year ago) and so lately, I can't sleep and I stay up late watching movies, and well I start snacking on everything...

I have never been over 200lbs. I was always around the 180's, and then it hit the 190's (who knows when!). I decided to try Nutrisystem, and I stayed on it for about 2 months.. and lost 10lbs. I was 185, and feeling great. I ended up getting sick of that food, and now half 2 weeks worth of food left. I have also gained the weight back, because of all my stress and either i'm not eating at all one day, or eating very well the next but just adding more to my meals... I am now at a whopping 202lbs!
I promised myself i'd never let myself get over 200lb, which I just don't understand. I LOOK like I lost weight, so my boyfriend thinks I gained myself. Anyway! sorry for the long intro, BUT I AM HERE to support everyone here, and support myself, TO A HEALTHIER WEIGHT!

I will set a minigoal in a couple days for myself, but in the long run I want to lose about 35 - 40 lbs.

thanks for listening!!

Hi Missy!
I'm so sorry about your mom - grief can be so unpredictable, showing up at different times and in different ways (be kind and patient with yourself )- how smart to set mini-goals and have health as your priority rather than just a diet or a munber - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the 20 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

For tickers and signatures, you must be here for 20 days and have at least 20 posts - hope that helps. Info like this and on other things can usually be found in the Announcements and Forum Help Section.

thanks so much everyone!

leeway: i agree, i used to log onto the forums when I felt like I was going to get sidetracked on my eating(well) habits.. but being on the forums with no food around, an hour or 2 passes and oh wow you never ate! i know there was no exercising involved, but you know, that could've been an hour or two where you could have been eating something bad, right?
