What can I say except that I am here and ready to make some changes in my life. It is so encouraging to read everyones stories!
My story is that I am a married to my best friend for over 30 years, am a mom to two boys, have a daughter-in-law, and a beautiful infant grandson. I work part time and have lots of interests and hobbies.
I've gained and lost weight for as long as I remember.
I am down 35 pounds from my heaviest weight. I keep some of the good habits that keep some of my weight off; I work-out regularly and eat healthy food for the most part.

P.S. My gift I to myself now is to lose the "all-or-none" mentality when it comes to food choices. I am an emotional and compulsive over-eater. Learning how to stop the binge is a gift I give myself; clearly, though, it is a work in progress...

I think you'll really like it here. I've had problems with overeating as well, and everyone here is really helpful and supportive. Hope to see you around !

I am new here as well. I had been on other sites but didn't get much of a response. It feels different here, the boards seem way more active. I am a compulsive/binge eater as well. We can support each other!

So many here can certainly relate to the emotional and all-or nothing eating - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.
There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.
