Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself and get to know people who have or will be going through the same experience.

I have been fighting doctors for about a year now to let me have WLS done. They were not convinced that I needed it nor did they believe that I had problems beyond being overweight. Well is been a rough year but I NOW am on my way to a new me! I went to my seminar Dec 17 and got insurance approval Dec 21. I have alot of questions and still have no idea what surgery want performed. Any advise or insight would help out tremendously. I am looking for friends that I can chat with now and that will be by my side through the surgery and afterwards. I hope to meet alot of you and good luck to everyone and their journeys!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's even a forum on WLS where I'm sure you'll find info, advice and support to help you on your journey.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

It is so draining to sit and wonder what is right for myself. I know taking it day by day is what I need to do but I cant help to think that maybe just giving up and living with the person I am is best off for everyone. Thank you for your positive reply. I have been to a few other forums and I was driven away the first day. I have never done a forum before so I am a little shy and not knowing what to expect. Thank you again
