Well, before I go off to post in one of the more specific forums, I thought I would do the intro thing here.
I'm a stay at home wife and mother of two, I've been overweight since I was about 9 or 10 years old. Lots of things helped to make me the weight I am today, childhood traumas, being surrounded by a family who ate their feelings (and everything else in sight!), general feelings of worthlessness, etc. But however I got here, I'm here. I just gave birth to my second baby about 3 weeks ago. Before I got pregnant with her I was 270lbs, the highest I'd ever been. By the night before I gave birth I was 250lbs. As of today I am 230lbs. I don't know why the weight is falling off so easily this time around (I actually gained weight after I had my first baby), but I'm taking full advantage and using it as a springboard to getting healthy. I'm starting by working on eating out less, cutting out late night snacking and getting enough sleep (a challenge with a toddler and a newborn...). I'm hoping to start walking once I get the okay to start exercising from my midwife at my 6 week post-partum checkup.
I was googling weight loss plans and this site popped up. I looked it over, read some posts, and decided to give it a try! Hopefully I'll be posting my success story on the Goal board one day.
