That list you made on your blog, about your wants, is a good one. It could be an idea to put it on a 3x5 card and read it, every day. Before you eat, before you exercise, when you are confronted with food that could be detrimental to your goals. Just keep reminding yourself of your long term goals so the short term desires don't get in the way.
Sorry about the health issues, but good for you for not letting them bring you down.
