Late night eater :( I am new :)



  • Hi! I am new to this sites forums, though i have been reading them for a while now. I just made an account.

    My name is Patience, i am 17, and just looking for a nice place to come for inspiration and such. I know 17 is kind of young, but most sites for my age end up being very pro ana, and just not what i need.

    I am not overweight, but i gain weight badly (all in stomach). I would like to lose about 20, and i think i could...but i do not sleep well, so i munch on junk all night long!! Any advice?

  • Hi, Patience, and welcome! Glad you are joining us.

    In terms of breaking the late night eating habit, it is hard. You just have to stop and, when you are tempted, resist. Do it for one day. Then, do it again the next day. And the next.... At first, it will be difficult, but once you get some momentum going and develop the habit of not eating at night, it will be easier. Also, have some strategies in place so that when you do want to eat at night, you have a plan in place for handling it. One thing I do is drink herbal tea. It helps take the edge off.

    Yes...your are so right. i need to take late night eating one step at a time. and i am going to write out a plan now great idea!

  • welcome .. i am a night owl too. i find i chew gum it keeps my mouth busy and im not tempted to munch on the other things.you should try it make sure its sugarless and a brand that the flavor lasts long..
  • Welcome Patience! I chew gum and drink herbal tea at night...breaking night munching is a hard habit to break but you can do it!!! It gets easier the more you do it...

    I also save about 100 calories for a snack around 7:30..so that helps with the night munchies too.
