Default Hello from Florida!

Hi I'm 29 years old and live in South Florida married with 2 cats and 2 dogs. Orchid is actually my puppy's name lol. The other names I like to use weren't available. I am a work part-time and am also a student. Currently I am actually taking a Nutrition class so hopefully that will help....

I have been working out for over 10 years but since I met my husband 5 years ago, I have slacked off a bit and went from a size 8 (which I feel very healthy at) to a size 10-12. It's sounds ridiculous but I have been working out this whole time and have NEVER been able to lose the 10-20 pounds (not sure since I don't own a scale) that I gained when I met my husband. (My happy in love weight, I guess...)

I was working out 3 times a week doing cardio only for 5 years, and I guess it wasn't enough. I also really love food and wine. I almost never eat fast food, but I love cheese and especially wine. I think drinking a bottle of wine over the weekend keeps me from losing weight. To combat this I have started drinking more expensive wine so I drink less, and eating less while drinking to get the desired result. lol.

I recently started the 30 Day Shred, I stumbled upon it by accident after doing Jillian's Cardio Kickbox on Netflix. I got upset when they took Cardio Kickbox off Netflix view instantly and I went out to buy the video. For some reason I couldn't find it and I bought the 30 Day Shred because I figured since it has Jillian in it, it must be good. The first day I tried the 30 Day Shred I had no idea what to expect, so I did Level 1 and Level 2 both in a row. (I used to do Cardio Kickbox two times in a row, no problem.)

Wow, that was a big mistake. I couldn't walk for a week. After that I resumed the Shred, starting out at Level 1 only doing it 5 times a week and also bicycling for 30 minutes once a week. (bicycling out of convenience because of parking issues at my school) I have since progressed to today which will be Day 3 of Level 2. I noticed the Shred Support on this site and decided to join.

My greatest fear is that the 30 Day Shred won't even help me. My greatest hope is that it is the jumpstart I need to get back into weight training and back down to a size 8. I feel like I'm losing inches but haven't measured. I feel like parts of me look smaller in the mirror, but I'm not sure.

I have also started eating better and drinking less wine. Hopefully it will help, I could use the support, after 5 years and continously gaining weight every year little by little I would like to stop the madness. Wow, this is long. Sorry about that, I have a tendency to be longwinded. I didn't mention this, but I'm also a writer.
