Default And so it begins...

I spent a number of years being overweight and not being all that concerned about it, or I may have been ignoring it. But it's now impacting my health and it's time to deal with it.

I'm familiar with nutrition in regards to maintaining a healthy level of cholesterol, but I've backslid the past few years and it's gone up again. Now I have to make a concerted effort to add exercise to my lifestyle.

I'm 5' 3" and 233 pounds. My GP claims I should be about 150. Well, I'm not going to focus on the number itself, but I do need to lose a considerable amount to be healthier.

I'm sure I'm going to find a lot of information!

I really hope I'm misunderstanding you. Your doctor can't have actually told you to lose 150 pounds if you weigh 233 currently? That's like 83 pounds and 14.7 BMI!

Yikes!! That was a typo. I corrected that to read "would like to see me at 150 pounds."
