Finally Introducing Myself!!!

  • Hello, to all the Chicks!!! I am 31 year old mother of 2. Nathan 7 and Brianna 5. I am married to a wonderful supportive husband Stephen for almost 10 years. I have struggled with my weight now for 5 1/2 years. I lost 70 lbs in 2002 using the principles I applied from the Weigh Down Workshop. I gained it all back during and after my pregnancy with my daughter in 2004. It has been a battle ever since. I now weigh 291lbs. My highest was 307lbs . My lowest in the past 5 1/2 years was 222 lbs.

I am so glad that I found this sight. I was on another sight since 2005 with not much going on. I feel like I can get the insight and support that I need here.

Here is my plan and goals. I have just started reading and applying the principles from the book Thin Within. I plan on following it as closely as possible. Starting today. My goal today is to Eat when hungry and stop when comfortable not stuffed. I plan on upping my water intake. I have also started a journal to keep track of my eating triggers, food eaten daily, weight ,inches and any other thoughts I might have. I plan on starting some kind of exercise routine. I just haven't decided on anything in particular yet. If you have any ideas on ways to shed belly fat (my problem area) please feel free to share. Any advice is appreciated.

My goal is to lose at least 10 lbs this month. My ultimate goal is to weigh 150. This is my goal however if I reach a weight that I feel comfortable with I will stick there. I don't want to be to thin and people always said I was to thin at that weight. We'll just have to see. Doesn't really matter what people think though. The real issue is how I feel about myself.

I hope to make some new friends on here and gain as much knowledge as possible.
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC!

When I started out, walking was the best option for me at my weight at the time.

You have come to the best place for support and encouragement.

    Good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • I have to second this. For an exercise routine, I initially started walking a lot, and I lost a lot of weight that way. Later, when I had less time, I switched to bicycling, which is more cardiovascular and higher intensity than walking -- however, I would have had a harder time with it if I hadn't lost weight through walking first.
