Default New And Wanting To Change

Hey Everyone, I'm Helen and from London, UK...I'm 31 and very very overweight.

I've been dealing with Weight Issues since Puberty...and I've tried so many times to sort it out....but haven't been able to manage so far - I think I have about 140 pounds to lose and I know that is a **** of a lot...

I've started with Slimming World (which I think is in the UK only) and am already struggling with trying to stick to it and not binge-eat on Takeaways, Crisps, Chocolate and Cheesecake.

I have a Goal in mind - I want to go to Sydney (Australia) next January and go to the Salsa Congress as I love to dance Salsa, Lambada and Merengue. So I have just over 7 months - I don't have to lose all 140 Pounds before then but I would love it if I could!!

I've made some Positive Changes - Have started to try to exercise at the Gym (twice a Week) and also am going back to dancing Salsa at least once a Week....so that's positive!!

Anyway....would love to get (and give) some Support....

Hello

Be determined and you can do it. I had over 150lb to lose and have lost 59lb in the past year I'm calories counting so I don't have to cut anything out but I have had to learn not to binge eat and learning to eat just one chocolate instead of the whole box. Now I'm not binge eating I'm actually struggling to eat enough calories which I didn't expect. It's best to take your time with weight loss rather than losing it all for your trip then you are more likely to keep the weight off. The exercise will help a lot too

Btw...Does anyone know how to get one of those Countdown things in your Signature? That way I can aim for 140 Pounds and watch as it counts down with everyone pound that I lose

Hi Helen.

After a certain number of posts and a certain length of time, you be able to build a weight ticker in your signature. In the mean time, you can have a graph at fitday.com. I do and really like watching the line go dooowwwnn.

Thanks hun....I meant to Post saying that I'd read the Instructions on the FAQ of how to do this...but thank you for letting me know anyway

I'm really proud of myself - I went to Somerfields (a UK Supermarket) and walked straight to the Fruit/Veg and straight past the Cheesecakes/Desserts/Chocolates....

I bought some nice Chicken Breast for my Lunch which I'm going to have with some fresh Baby Tomatoes and some Cucumber followed by (probably) a Muller Light and some fruit.

Then I also bought some nice Lean Minced Beef to make a fresh Bolegnase with...So I'll fry off the Minced Beef (without Oil!!), add Pepper, Onions, Mushrooms and Chopped Tomatoes....then add Garlic, Salt, Pepper and Mild Chilli Powder...and then just eat - Little fat and completely FREE on the Red Day on Slimming World - I can have as much as I like

So yes, I'm VERY proud of myself and sitting here right now munching on Satsuma's...which are my Lifesavers when I'm eating healthily....It keeps my hands busy and stops me thinking about all the Unhealthy Stuff that will make my Journey harder!!
