Red face Sweet Like...

Hey, I'm 25, Female from England. I've been overweight for as long and finally think it's time to make the change for myself and start my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I have been on diets in the past but they never worked mainly because I was just looking for a quick fix.

My current weight is 258 lbs I've lost 11 lbs so far I'm following the weight watchers point plan and so far I'm really enjoying it. My problem at the moment is motivation to exercise. The first 2 weeks I worked out daily jogging/walking 3 miles a day. Week 3 I hit my plateau and that was it my motivation went and I haven't done any exercise for the last 2 weeks. I have lost 2 - 3 lbs in the weeks I haven't exercised. I'm ready to start exercising again now BUT the thing that puts me off about exercising is every time I exercise I gain or plateau and my motivation goes.

This place looks really good and I've been reading some posts and everyone seems so nice. Look forward to sharing and getting to know everyone better.

Hi and welcome to 3FC.

I'm going to suggest that you join one of the challenge threads. Even some group daily threads have little challenges. Just to get you into the exercise groove ...

Hi TooLegit! Maybe joining the April exercise challenge can help to jumpstart your motivation to exercise again. Take a look and see what you think: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168201. Good luck!

2legit, if you start charting your foods, exercise, water and cycles with your weight you will probably notice a pattern. I hit the "plateau" or whatever a couple of times a month--start of cycle and ovulation. I will also stop if I am eating out too much, having processed foods or haven't had enough water or fiber.

Most would say what you and I experience are not plateaus truly. But I understand what you mean.

First of all congrats on losing 11 lbs!! I too and following WW and I love it! About your exercise, keep moving !!! Even if you see no change on the scale you will notice a difference!! Not only in your weight but in your health. Also if the scale discourages your exercise how about taking your measurements? I take mine every two weeks. You can lose inches without losing pounds. So even though the scale might not show it you will get smaller. Good luck!!!
