Newbie here
I found the forum about two days ago when I was on a search for a weight loss web sites and saw this on a suggestion of links. I was at first put off by the sites name lol But I love how kind of laid back but supportive the members seem to be! My name is Joshua. You can call me Josh. I'm 20 years old, from Chicago, IL. My weight has been a constant struggle as far as I can remember. Every since I was a kid, me and food were constant buddies and for all the wrong reason. So I decided, for myself, that I wanna get healthy and live a better quality of life. I'm 6'2 and weigh 330 pounds. I'm going to be turning 21 May the 6th and would love to be 15-20 pounds lighter, but my ultimate goal is to shed 100lbs!
I've become more active and cut back on the calories. I now write down what I eat and it makes me more consicous of what I'm actually putting in my mouth. I'm only 4 days into my 'life style change' as I'm trying to refer to. As soon as I call it a diet, I wanna go and raid the fridge lol. I've cut down to 1800 calories and get most of them from lean meats and real dense fruits and veggies. I've given up soda in my quest of a smaller waistline. I've rediscovered water. I use to be a soda addict!
I'm also moving more as I've said before. I 'power walk' on a treadmill for 25-30 minutes everyday and do light weight training. I like to switch it up as far as the weights go. And I actually like working out! Having my iPod full of tunes makes it so much fun! I've seriously considered using Alli a few times, but am terrified of the side effects I keep hearing about but I told myself, if I hit a plateau if couldn't hurt to get some 'assistance'.
