Default New member with an old problem

Hello my dears! I'm 46, recently divorced, and disabled since 2002. I love my medications since after all I'm alive, but I hate my medications because they increase my appetite. I think I'd like to be alive and less obese. I got to change my meds just lately, and I have better hopes that I'll be able to manage my tummy.

I was always a 180 woman, so I set myself a goal I think is reasonable. I got the You on a diet book for myself at Christmas, and with summer coming on I'll be able to garden and swim. I plan on doing low carb, low fat and olive oil at that, and high fiber. I haven't got an activity plan yet, because some days I do good to shower and dress, but I'm thinking a simple brisk walk will be my ticket.

I'm happy to be trying!

Hi and welcome! Are the meds something you may be able to taper off of if you lost the weight you need to lose or is it for an ongoing condition? If you don't mind me asking? Gardening and swimming are actually great activities and if it's something you enjoy, then even better. Not to mention you can grow your own healthy veggies!
