Hey everyone. I just started my weightloss journey this past week. I have been wanting/attempting to lose weight but I always seem to give up and slip back into bad habits. I'm finally ready to get serious about this so that I can get back down to what I weighed 2 years ago. I live in New Orleans and had always been overweight. After Hurricane Katrina I had finally buckled down and lost weight, then I gained it all back again a year later when I started dating my boyfriend. I did it before so I know I can do it again, and I'm hoping that being a part of this community will help me to stay motivated. So far this past week I have lost 3.4 lbs., and I'm looking forward to this next week!
Surf around and settle in! We have subforums based on age, nutrition plan, exercise and more.
Congrats on your loss so far! I like your avatar. I love big cats.....as long as I'm safe. At our zoo here we have a mountain lion enclosure and I love to sit and watch them. They have a unique odor to them, however, and once when I was hiking in the mountains, I smelled that mountain lion smell. Eeepps! I have a lot of respect for big cats.
Looks like you're starting out well. Which plan are you using or are you kinda working it out yourself? Keep up the good work! You'll get there, and remember to enjoy your journey. Don't make it too hard to follow for the rest of your life!!
How is it down in New Orleans? I heard that the national guard is pulling out soon?
I'm pretty much just counting calories and exercising more. I'm using Fitday.com to figure out how many calories I should eat a day to lose the weight by the end of May. Right now I'm eating a little under 1500 calories a day, walking a few miles 5 days/week, doing circuit training 3 days a week, and I usually do some ab work at night before I go to bed. I'm loving all the exercise, it makes me feel so much better. And I haven't seen the national guard down here in a while, so they probably are mostly gone.
