Hello! I just found this site today, and having looked at it a bit decided to join up.
Right now I weigh 223.5, I've always been fat/chubby/whatever you want to call it and looked on in envy at my younger sister who weighs 110 and has always been thin.
I've tried to diet before, and paired that with using our treadmill but it doesn't really work for me. Exercising alone, on our treadmill in our dismal basement wasn't working for me. I was also using 'slimfast' at the time but have come to realize that drinking a protein rich 'shake' every day isn't going to work long term.
So I spent a long year trying to re-invent my food habits, I learned to like vegetables, and salads if made with spinach instead of lettuce, and have kicked my sweet tooth's butt 98% of the time. And I started going to the gym, and I've found some real motivation by going there, surrounded by other people who are trying to lose weight or stay in shape. I love that there is plenty of light, lots of people, and I can catch up on current events by watching the news while I work out.
Now if only I can stay on track! This coming week will be week 4 at the gym, I've not lost a lot of weight I know but I feel better! And that's the important thing right now.
