Talking Greetings!!!

Hello! My name is Nicole. I am a single mother of a beautiful daughter. I have constantly been in and out of different weight loss plans, diets, fitness programs, etc. I always start off all gung ho and determined to reach my goal. Then my will power dies off and I convince myself to get off track. I am a person moved by instant gratification. If I don't see it immediately I get frustrated and just lose interest. I always lose quickly in the beginning because I drastically change my eating habits but then I move to the typical 1 to 2 pound loss/gains each week. I never see the scale move and I get mad and stop. I'm hoping this time is different. I watched my mother lose over a hundred pounds with WW alone and no exercising...she looks amazing. Health problems run in my family and I don't want my daughter to lose me much too early. I also want her to learn from my habits and right now my habits are nothing to brag about.

Sorry so long...I like to write. LOL

So many people here have followed a similar pattern. They begin "gung-ho" and try to change everything all at once. Or restricting themselves severely. And then they stop "dieting" and everything piles back on.

The key for many people is to remember that the changes we make have to be permanent. But they don't all have to be made at once. So eating healthier... moving more... if we take slow steps, we will still see progress, and hopefully it will be permanent progress.

I hope you find all the support and advice you need within these boards

Well, since you like to see quick results.. How about instead of looking to your scale for results you change which results your looking at. In example : make a goal each day. Something you will work at the entire day. Like drinking 8 glasses of water. Or not eating any junk food, or eating enough veggies fruits etc. Then, you'll get results every night. That's pretty good instant gratification! Sure it's nice to see the scale moving and see the results of your hard work, but you and I both know that the scale won't move fast forever, like you said.
Just an idea

Good luck (but you don't need luck right, right?)

Oh and thanks Tanee for the inspirational photos and recommending the board. I am loving it here and it is SO addictive. LOL.

Thanks for the ideas. I do plan on making a goal for me each day. I've been meaning to jot down my measurements. People say you will see measurements lower faster than the scale will lower. I would like to keep track of that anyway.
