First blog. [ever, in my life]
Am restarting an eating plan, which I discovered ten years ago. It worked. So why am I overweight again? <sigh...> Blame it on my second husband

who took over my kitchen and over the past eight years despite several efforts to convert said beloved husband, I have become via my weakness, Signora Mangialardi [Mrs. Fat-Eater, in Italian]. haha Ahem.
Gotta have humor [perspective?]: my husband is the only man I know, fries half a pound of bacon in olive oil [as if the meat needed it??!].

So there we were, hubby & me. He at sixteen pounds overweight having given up dipping tobacco four months ago, killer metabolism on him and routinely two plates of dinner

; me at forty-two pounds overweight

- nope, haven't gone cold-turkey from the cigarettes yet [and terrified of that trip].
So anyway... Started just a week ago back on that eating plan I mentioned. It's pretty much the same diet doctors prescribe for their patients with diagnosis of Type II [adult] diabetes, inspired by my ex-father-in-law's huge weight loss on this plan. Now. A coupla 'legal' disclaimers... I'm not a doctor, a nutritionist, or even a college graduate; just a homesick Jersey Girl. I'm not diabetic, either, and this eating plan was not prescribed me by a doctor. BUT, so far as I'm aware, the Type II diabetic dietary plan is NOT harmful to people without diabetes. And, although I tend to hypoglycemia [low blood sugar] I have had no complications on this eating plan and my tested bloods are AOK in that regard.
THE GREAT NEWS [don't we all want some??]: Since last week, have lost 1.0 pounds exactly, on this plan. Hubby lost 2.4 pounds [grr - envy him, pause to smack with him with garden shovel...]. Understanding, we women carry more body fat and water than men to begin with.
What I'm Looking For: replies in support, tips and personal shares.
What I Can Give Back: support, personal tips, and my share on what personal trials have brought me in terms of failure and success. I could pen a book and publish for money, but I firmly believe that what you give is what you get. Wheel of karma, yo.
Lastly, I want to give alla youse girlz a

for being on this blog, caring about yourselves, and giving us back from you.
See ya next Monday for weigh-in...
