Well to start, I'm Lindsey. You can call me by my first name vs. my screen name - I can never think of anything witty for that.
I've been struggling with weight since I was a very young child - starting at around 11. I was a very large little kid, and got made fun of an awful lot. As I grew up, I dealt with some eating disorder issues in my late high school years and after around a year of being completely unhappy, I let myself go. And go, and go and go! Unfortunately this made me end up right back where I started - obese.
Last year I began what I would call a concerted effort to lose weight. Due to the loss of a few people in my life I got off track, dealt with some depression issues, and have since then healed and recovered from that period in my life. I began dieting in June, and lost 20 lbs pretty quickly, and since then haven't been able to get up the motivation or will power to keep going. Last week I stepped on the scale and realized I had gained 3 lbs back, and it snapped me back into reality - this is something I have to do!
So here I am! I am really looking forward to having a supportive community of people who know the challenges I face - I feel as if no one around me knows how incredibly difficult this can be. So that's me, in quite a large nutshell (whoops!). Thanks for reading and I look forward to discussions and blogging, and in general just getting to know all of you.
