I tried doing it for my hubby (then fiance) and ellis is right, it's a short road to resentment-town. So now I am doing it for me, and it's so much better this way.
Sometimes I think guys just don't understand.

Oh well, we still love 'em. Sounds like your guy is supportive in his own way, which is awesome! I don't know if I'd be able to keep working toward my health goals without my hubby's support. Now I've reached a self-esteem point where I feel comfortable calling him when I am having a craving and telling him to tell me that I will regret a binge. When I first started, there was NO WAY he could say anything to me about my food....even when I asked him to, he knew better than to fall in that trap. My self esteem was just so low that I couldn't handle any commentary about it from him, even when he was well-meaning. But he is really my helper in this now, and I think a huge part of that is because I stopped doing it for him. So congrats to you for taking that first step! The people here are wonderful, you will get lots of support!
