My name is Kristen. I'm a 21 year old graduate student, and getting back on track trying to lose weight.
I've had weight issues ever since after having spinal surgery to correct scoliosis when I was 12. That stopped my growth at 5'7 when I otherwise would have been about 6'0-6'2 (I have a very tall family.) Every since then, it seems my body has had a weight it wanted to be at, and that weight was for me the taller person. I am also very short-waisted as a result of the surgery, so all of the weight always settles in my stomach and hips (yuck!)
I'm trying to get back on track with my weight but struggle with it because of having had a severe anorexia problem while in my teens. It seems to have permanently messed with my metabolism, and traditional dieting methods don't seem to work for me. I also focus mostly on exercise because when I start dieting, I have a tendency to revert back to that mindset and before I know it, I'm eating 400 calories a day and running for 7 miles. Regardless of what I'm eating, I generally run about 7 miles or so every day.
I'm working to get back down to 125, and hoping this community will provide me with motivation and inspiration! OKay, I'm done
