There's a first time for everything, right?

  • Alright, so, this is a first for me. I feel like the new kid in school, but here goes.

About me? I'm at my highest weight ever in my life (210 lb.) and, well, I don't like it! I graduated high school back in '05 and I was 150-160 then and still think that was too big...

So, I'm hoping to go from this 18/20 pants|2-3X shirts|40C bra to about 130 lb. That's an 80 lb. weight loss.

    And it seems impossible

I lost my job the end of February and ended up moving back in with the parents, and STILL trying to find a job, so I sit home all day and eat once or twice.

I'm teetering on 210-215 and I don't know what I'll do if I go any higher except be devastated.

So... I don't know. I'm really going to try and get my butt in gear!

Oh. And hello My name is Shannon!
  • Welcome Shanon! You will find alot of good advice and encouragement here How about going to the goal/photo album and taking a look for some inspiration?
  • Well, I actually did look at the goals, and found them amazing and awe-inspiring

That's what kicked my procrastinating behind into gear to set up my profile and a weight-loss blog! (And it makes me want to start up yoga again before I go to bed, like I used to.)

Thank you for your reply, it's nice to meet you, and now I must sleep!
  • Welcome aboard, mate!
  • Thank you kindly
  • welcome welcome lady!
    Bonjul
  • Welcome! I am new to and also from upstate NY. I am "unemployed" for the summer ( I'm a teacher) and I also love to eat out of boredom when I sit home all day long (and yup I live at home with my parents too!) But I have finally put a stop to it, 5 days since I last binged!

Try to keep busy and chew gum and chug water when you are hungry!
  • You're going to be okay...
Welcome! You can do it! I'm a teacher too...we can do lots of hard things...including take charge of our weight. I'm using 3FC to keep my hands busy and my mind motivated. You'll find lots of good ideas, friendly, caring people and straight-up information.
  • I'm class of 05' and upstate NY also... just a little bit out of the city. Nice to meet you
  • Shannon!
  • Welcome! You will find lots of support and encouragement here! As for what you will or can do, you can jump into working on your life or sit around and cry until it gets worse. Sounds like you decided to *show up* for progress! Glad you're here!. ;-) Keep posting!
  • I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has responded

First off, I've got a job! I'm a Sales Associate at Wal-mart in the HBA dept (meaning I stock shelves, and am on my feet constantly - woohoo!) I wore a step counter to work the other week and was amazed to find I took more than 6,400 steps! How stellar is that?!

Between morning/night shifts, lack of sleep, and now a break up - I'm doing my best not to binge, but it's tough. I can do good all day, then 2 am I'll grab a whole pack of saltine crackers and a 2L of soda and that's it

I need some determination & motivation
