Default New to 3 Fat Chicks Community

Hi there, I'm glad to have stumbled across this forum. It looks like there's tons of wonderful information here.

About 6 years ago I lost 75 pounds after beginning to "low carb it". It was easy for me then, and the pounds just fell off. Then about 3 years ago I was injured, depressed and "mad at the world", and in about a year I put 50 of those pounds back on.

I'm being serious again now (for about a year), but it is NOT easy this time. I seem to keep losing and gaining the same 10 pounds.

But this forum should be good motivation. I know what I should be doing, and I have lots of good low carb recipes...I just get discouraged and/or sidetracked every once in awhile and resort to "carbing it".

I'm so happy to have joined!

hi wyo, and welcome! I find it really helpful and encouraging to check in here regularly. I love to look at the before/after/during photos in the "goal" and "mini-goal" forums, and get tips from other people. It helps me remember that I CAN DO THIS!

You can do this, too. : )

I'd like to welcome you aboard too! You will do it this time! As we age, it gets harder to lose weight, but it is definitely possible and you can do it! Check in w/ the south beach board and also some of the other boards too. You might find that one program isn't enough. For instance, I combine low carb with calorie counting. It works for me but it doesn't mean it'll work for you. I like to write down everything I eat too. Find out what works for you and visit here often as you can. You will do it with all the support here and with your own motivation and consistency.
