Hello everyone! My name is Amanda. I am 21. I have always been chunky, but since I have graduated high school, I seem to be gaining alot lately! I am in nursing school and I really want to lose weight before I graduate. I think if a nurse if going to teach her patients about healthy lifestyles then they should do the same. (Who is going to listen to an overweight nurse about healthy eating and excersize?) My boyfriend and I would also like to get married and start a family soon after I graduate; and I have always said I want to be the healthiest I can be when I am pregnant (for my child and myself). I have always told myself I am going to diet, but I usually only stick with it for a day or two. I hope to stick with it this time and find a healthy way that I can stick with for many years!
Hello and welcome! I'm a newbie here myself. I hope you find a plan that fits your lifestyle and works for you, and don't get too discouraged if you fall off the wagon from time to time. It happens to everyone (especially me!). I hope you like it here, from what I've seen everyone is really nice, supportive and helpful.

Welcome to the board. I am a nurse and I understand where you are coming from about telling patients how to diet and exercise to become healthier. I work with cardiac patients and teach healthy lifestyles for them all the time. I have found that its easier said than done, but once you get started on a diet and see results its an amazing feeling. This is a great place for motivation, resources, etc. Plus, seems like you have good motivation now that you have joined to get ready for your wedding as well as your career goal.
