Default Hello!

Hi. I'm new too. My name is Carol, and I'm hoping to make some friends, and to find some inspiration and support. Hoepfully I can offer the same in return.

I've spent far too long using food for comfort and/or boredom, and now I'm just fed up with myself and letting myself get to this point. I'm about 50-60 pounds overweight, and since I'm only 5'2", it shows even more. So I finally got disgusted enough to get motivated. I spent about a week and a half on my own, and now I'm on my first week of BistroMD. So far, so good. Funny, but in general it's not the food I miss so much, but the soda and iced tea. Unfortunately I can't have anything with Nutrasweet or Splenda..it makes me physically sick. So diet sodas and things are out for me. If anyone has any suggestions for adding some satisfying flavor to water...I'd be very grateful!

I'm looking forward to meeting people and sharing. Thanks for being such a supportive community!

Carol

I really like herbal tea, celestial seasonings berry zinger is pretty good cold. I drink a lot of hot tea at work...it's always freezing there. As for a possible sweetner - have you tried stevia? It's more natural than splenda.

Thanks for the welcomes, and for the advice! I will probably give some of the herbal teas a try on ice - I haven't done that.

I'm a bit nervous about trying Stevia after my past experiences, though it sounds a lot safer than the other artificial sweeteners. For now, I'm going to try to muddle through without any.

Let me know in a couple of weeks how the BistroMD is to stick with. That is one of the programs that I am considering. And Welcome. I'm new here also.
