Default Tired of "rollercoaster ride"!

Hi Everyone!

I just found this website yesterday when I was looking for WW Core recipes and like what I saw. So I joined! Hi!

Well, I've decided to finally get back on the wagon again. I wasn't sure which program I wanted to do; I've done so many in the past 5 years. I joined WW with a friend back in 2003 and lost 40lbs. in 6 months. I became a lifetime member and then decided "I can do this on my own and weigh myself at home!" HA! I kept if off for a year or so and then gradually gained some of it back. I did some research online and started the WW CORE plan on my own and loved it, no measuring, no counting points but found that I needed the discipline of being weighed every week so I re-joined WW, but again, that didn't last long. I've tried "the abs diet" and then tried "sparkpeople.com" and finally gave up.

Now after I have gained back all the weight that I had lost before, I'm ready to start over again. Summer is coming and I'm not happy with the way I feel or look in my clothes, much less a bathing suit!

I would like to do the WW Core plan again but I can't stand whole wheat pasta. Any suggestions? Also, I love the Smart Ones meals; they are convenient and easy for me for lunch. I know that they are not core.

My first day of "dieting" went okay, not good. Tomorrow is another day!

Thanks for listening to me ramble on and on.

Hi Pooky!

I've been rollercoasting just about forever and I'm sick of it. I figured there must be a way of eating that didn't make me think about and crave food all day long. There just had to be a way of eating that would leave me feeling healthy and satisfied and get me down to my ideal weight (again!). I researched and decided to give up grains...even whole grains. I just eat plenty of vegetables (except white potatoes), fruits, lean meat, and dairy products. It's worked very well so far...I've only been on it two weeks, but I am going to give it a go until I find it's not helping my health or weight.

You might find that trying a way of eating you've never tried before will help you stick to it.

Hi there!

Even on the Core plan you still get 35 Flex Points for the week. You could definitley use some of them to enjoy an occassional Smart Ones meal. Also, you can use them to eat a serving of regular pasta instead of whole wheat if you feel like it.

Make sure to check out the Core section under Weight Watchers within Diet Central. There are plenty of people there who'd love to help out!

Best of success!

. . . so glad to have you joining us . . .

Maybe you need to modify a plan to suit your own lifestyle a little better and, as Faerie mentioned, you can easily do that with WW Core. The secret really is to find something that suits you so well that you can do it for a lifetime.

Good Luck to you, Chickie, and remember we are all here for you.

Welcome Pooky. This journey is definitely one that you will need support and advice, and there are plenty of people that are willing to assist you. I'm currently doing WW Flex plan, but am thinking about switching to the Core. I think once you find a combination that works for you, things will become a bit more settled.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement!

I've been kinda both doing points and core, lots of water and I've totally cut out the sweets. (We have a candy drawer at work that was not helping, so we got rid of it. YEAH!) and I've been doing pretty good since Monday. I know most of it is probably water weight, but I'll take it!

Thanks again for the warm welcome from everyone.
