Hi everyone!

I'm Kristen and I'm a 25 year old college student pursuing an English education degree (also work full-time). Obviously I'm new here, but I've been poking around here for a couple of days and think this is a great site with lots of encouragement, support, and success!
I've been overweight since I was a child and it seems I've always dieted on and off...lose 20 pounds, but gain back 30. So, in my early 20's I just stopped trying. But when I went to the doctor last year and saw a number on the scale that was way too high, I knew I had to do something or I was just asking for health problems.
I gathered every ounce of motivation I had and decided to change my lifestyle October 8, 2007 and since then I've let go of 50 pounds. I still have about 70 more to go until I reach my goal. I'm basically eating low-cal and watching my portions. I know longer view it as a diet, it's just how I eat now. I'm not perfect everyday, but I've learned that that's okay. Just because I eat bad at one meal doesn't mean that I've blown it and it's not an excuse to eat unhealthy at the next meal. I joined Curves to get myself in the habit of working out, but, in addition to that, now I enjoy walking/jogging, tae bo, working out with my stability ball, and soon, I'll be getting Jillian Michael's 30-day shred dvd. I've read such great reviews of it on this site.
Anywho... I just wanted to introduce myself and encourage everyone to continue this healthy lifestyle!!
