Default Very Informative Site - I can't wait to participate!

Hello everyone!

I used FitDay for a while last fall and was doing well, but I fell off during the holidays and hit a 2 month post-holiday slump. I just logged back on for the first time this year yesterday.

I am 28 years old. I am living far away from everyone I know for the past 2 years so I've often turned to takeout to make me feel better. It doesn't help that when I visit my boyfriend, family, and friends, it usually involves more eating.

A big challenge for me is cooking for 1. I enjoy watching cooking shows and reading cook books, but I get discouraged from trying recipes out since most are usually for 4 and scaling them down can be hard. Leftovers usually excite most people, but I don't do so well with them.

I'm really looking forward to participating!

Hi there &

It can be frustrating that we're trying to scale everything back and then recipes come along and always (for me) seem to "serve 8". However, I've learned that leftovers are a great thing. And perhaps, with time you'll be able to cut a recipe down to 2 servings, and immediately wrap up the extra. What's great about the leftovers is that you can use it for the very next meal if you want, or for several meals later.

You may want to check out the 20-something's, and the calorie counters area for some extra tips. But, have a look around and post wherever you're comfortable!

Best of success!! You can do this!

A big from me too. I read your bio and just know you will be successful. I totally agree with your last statement!

I cook for one person too and know how frustrating it can be. I try to cut recipes to two servings and freeze the extra. It's great to just take something yummy out of my stash.

Hang out a lot - there is a ton of support and information on this site.

I cook for one, also. I find it rather boring. I usually freeze what I can't eat and save it for another day.
