Default Getting on, falling off, getting back on....

Like another post down below, I joined 3FC a year ago and lost about 15 lbs. Since then, I've gained it all back, plus about 8 lbs, give or take. I haven't posted on here in a long time (and under a different user name!) because I was so ashamed of gaining back all of the weight that I had worked so hard to lose.

Well, anyway, I'm eating crow and decided to start over, with a new name (I was previously known as 2Fat4myJeans), and a new year, and hopefully this time... a new me. I went back to the plan that worked - calorie counting - and bought a new elliptical, so now, I really have no excuses.

Getting on, falling off, getting back on and falling off again is starting to get tiring!

Hi and welcome!

Don't be ashamed! Many many many successful maintainers have had more than one stab at weight loss. We even did a poll once.

Have you found the calorie counters threads?

Hi Susan and Faerie, thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I feel like a kid trying to learn how to ride a bike and perhaps I have to fail several times before I finally get the hang of it...

Love the Calorie Counters group...thanks for reminding me of it!

Dear girl, you are not alone. Do you know how mortifying it is to be a moderator and to have regained a ton of weight?
That's what I love about the Sisters. They're human and they struggle like the rest of us. We can do this.
I'm so glad you've come back here.

Just between you, me and the lamp-post ... I'm not at goal weight either!

Thank you, Susan. I'm sorry for you, but it's nice to hear.
Oh, that didn't sound right... You know what I mean.

I'm down 11 lbs... And every time someone says - "Great Job!" "Well done!" etc., I feel like a poser... I have already lost these 11 lbs. over and over and over again... I am ready for a NEW 11 lbs.!!

Do not feel ashamed for regaining! You've lost it once, you can do it again!

Oh my gosh, I've forgotten how great this place is. You ladies are too funny. And so encouraging. It has taken the shame and embarassment out of having to start all over again (and then some).

I keep telling myself, there's no where to go but down... on the scale, that is!

Well SCraver ... you can just hang around with us other posers

And yes, I know exactly what Ellis means. I feel triply blessed here at 3FC. Not only are there lots of folks struggling with their weight -just like me- there are folks struggling with the same weight again -just like me- and there are folks who have lost, got down, stayed down -like we will some day.

I really like message boards and have been to quite a few but I've never found one with a sturdy group of successful maintainers like we have here.
