Default Help Me

I have tried tons of diets in the past. Last year I lost about 20 pounds on South Beach (but I am pretty sure the weight loss actually came from dropping my dead beat boyfriend). Then I stopped dieting. Started up again this January going the calorie counting route, but am kind of tired of it....

I want to know what diets work best for everyone else. I exersize regularly, so thats not an issue. I am debating between weight watchers & going back on South Beach, but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

HELP

hi, I've been on SB going on 4 weeks now (and I too have done SB before, lost 34 pounds in 5 months and then, like you -- stopped). -- I've heard others say weight watchers is less regimented, allowing a greater variety of foods --

but SB works for me, because I know I am a carbohydrate LOVER! I can't have one chip, or one piece of bread, without wanting to keep going! :-) and it helps me keep my carbs in check.

I'm on Phase 2 now, and for the long haul. I've come to the realization that I've approached dieting as a temporary measure in the past and have resolved not to do that this time. This time I'm sticking to it until it's all gone and finally reach Phase 3! I'm in my late 40's and have hypothyroidism (slooooow metabolism) and I realize that I have to keep myself in check when I reach my goal and in a maintenance stage.

I wish you luck with you choice. Whichever you choose, you win!

best,
b

Hello and WELCOME! I'm doing the Fat Smash Diet it's from the T.V. show 'Celebrity Fit CLub' and it is a book with 4 phases... the first phase is 9 days long and you can eat fruits & veggies except avocado or white potatoes, 1 cup skim milk, 1 cup oats, 12 oz yogurt, 2cups brown rice, 4 egg whites and 2cups herbal tea a day... I of course wouldn't eat everything in 1 day it is just what is allowed in the first 9 days and so many people on the forum lost between 5-15lbs in 9days! Then it slowly brings other foods into each 'phase'... it is a book and I picked it up at my library so I didn't even have to pay for it! It's really about changing your life for healthy eating and even though today is only day 2 I feel great! I'll let you know how much I lose on day 10!!!

It really helps me to look through different diet forums and see what people say!

Good Luck!

Welcome, Kristina!
DH and I both did really well on South Beach several years ago. Ummm, we did regain the weigh eventually, but that's another story.

Dazzling, welcome to the forum!
I'm going to move your post to a separate thread so it'll get more coverage.
It's here:
