Smile New in KY

New to this site, not new to dieting......this time I'm determined to not diet but change my lifestyle! My dh & dd(teenager) are wanting to join me on this new adventure!

I thought the title of this website was so cute, I just had to join!

I've been married to the same wonderful man for 23+ years! We have 4 wonderful children who are mostly young adults! our youngest is still at home (sophomore in hs) I have two in college & one will be leaving for Army Basic Training by the end of this month!

Dh has always planned on us going on a cruise for our anniversary..........well this year we are going in Oct! I want to loose some of my weight by then I figure 9mths would be good to start with for a short term goal! I am 319lbs right now!

This is the HEAVIEST I have ever been! In high school I weighed in at 175 but with my height & bone structure I didn't show it. I wore a size 14 back then and felt good. My dream size would be an 8 or 9 LOL but right now that is just that a dream! I would be happy at 14 or 16 I am 5'7" and large boned

ok so now that I poored my life out to you all...............HELP!!!!! there's a skinny woman inside this fat body and I keep shutting her up with CHOCOLATE!!!! hehhehe

^^

Congratulations on making the decision to change & commit!

Now... what to do? Have you thought about how making small changes will help you to accomplish this? There are plenty of things that can be done! If you want to find a "plan" there are many, many mentioned in the Diet Central area. If you'd prefer some baby steps, you could always start by drinking more water, adding more vegetables & fruits into meals and taking short walks, small bits of exercise.

Let us know what you're thinking and doing! I'm sure plenty of people around here have advice & support to give you

Best of luck!

Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like you've got a great, supportive family.

I'll echo what Faerie said. Small changes will make a big difference in your life. You'll barely notice them, and before you know it, you'll be a whole new you!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!

We are trying to change a few things....like more vegies, smaller portions....eating dinner earlier.....as well as walking however it's been raining and well I have some abdominal issues from previous surgeries and have limited muscle usage ...walking irritates my abs.....not just makes them sore from exercise....but irritates it so that Im in discomfort for a few days.....I have to take it really slow with the walking portion...Im hoping to increase mins of walking as the weeks go by.
