Default Some Ideas for Encouragement

Day 1 Notes
2:45 pm On one of the threads someone wrote something to the effect of "if you sneak it in private it still counts." Today was proof of that. I brought pastry from the house to feed the crew and what did I do but make excuse to have 1 little piece. Just one piece more. Until those little pieces became 1 whole piece that I had to own up to on the food log. Live and learn and read the forums and write in the forums because someone else can learn from your mistake!

Gauge for success ideas:
I have a pair of size 22 pants I cant button them but they are navy and a necessity to my work wardrobe. So I wear them with tops OVER the button area. I am wearing these every Friday between now and when the finally fit without tension. The good side note is that the 24's had to be thrown away because they were so damn baggy. I have a black 24 also but have not tossed them because I dont want to buy a 22 in black.

Some rules to go by:
1) dont eat after 8
2) Water works
3) Eat slower you wont eat as much
4) You can make good choices even out
5) find your trouble spots and work on them (write the forum for help)

Default Hi Chilipepperlady

You might want to check out Mandalinns goal story and pictures. She inspired me to get off my but and I just did a 2-mile walk away the pounds tape. Just read other people's stories and see how far they have come and have confidence in yourself. You can do this. We all can - Thanks again Mandalinn!

Welcome to 3FC chilipepperlady! Your post reminded me of what a great motivator pants can be. The scale won't always show a lower number; tape measures are better but they only measure a few prime spots; a pair of pants can show you dozens of ways your body may have changed. Using clothes to regularly gauge progress gives new meaning to "getting fit."

Good luck with that button. I'll be excited to read about it when you seal the deal.

Talking Day 1 Summerized for Encouragement

Day 1 Summary:
1) Don't watch Late night commercials of food on your first day of a weight loss plan.
2) Dont give into the sales pitch from a late night commercial
3) If you are going to give into a sales pitch and get out in the cold on day one of the weight loss program make sure you like the food you are cheating with. If you dont then not only are you cold, guilty but you are also upset with Nasty taste in your mouth.
***How do you fix this??? Dont give into commercialism and keep the right treats in the house to avoid the temptation and Always make good choices even when they are bad choices***

Thumbs up Day 2 Encouragement

Day 2 Breakfast

Egg/Potato/Sausage Scramble:
it was a burrito but I took it out of the tortilla.
The next time I will order NO POTATO . What was I thinking!
Wait , what next time.
**note to self NO burritos for breakfast for a while.**
2 waters by 9:30 am
2 coffee
1 tea

Lunch Day 2

Tomato Soup
Salad
I did not finish the Jack in the box salad from yesterday
----------------
Well thats what I wrote a couple of hours before lunch. Thats what I brought for lunch. Then someone said "Chinese?"
**Note: flaw in personal control for saying NO to outside sources with offers of bad food choices. (see day 2 Breakfast if needing back up on flaw existance. or summary day 1 late night for more back up.**
I did however order the lunch special (smaller portion) of chicken and broccoli. I had them hold the rice. The I did NOT use the spicy "oil" on it. (Darn near killed me cause I love spicy but did not need the oil). So I guess even with a bad choice I made I made some good choices. Good For Me!!!
>>Mini goal - 1/4/07 go all day on planned foods.<<
Even with the not perfect 2 days I have lost 2 pounds. That is a big plus. Now how much would I have lost had I stuck to my plan, whatever that is.
Mini goal - Break 240. I want to be 239 and never go back darnit!

1 water 12:30
1 water 1:40

Tonight for dinner we will have pork roast, green beans and a salad. I hope to NOT be swayed by Jack, Ronald or Wendy.

That was the plan. Use left overs but Chilipepperman's brother came over so I cooked meatloaf and potatoes and peas. But I used lean beef, NO fat in the potatoes. We had a large spring salad w/ dressing on the side to start.

WORD of THE DAY: Antioxidents
My green tea has them in it and says they are good for me so I will learn about them

Day 2 Summary:
I walked brisker between offices. I stood and moved a bit more. On the way to work I stopped and got premade omelets. Probably not great in the ingredient range but better than the burrito and very portion controlled. I also bought some new teas, some soup in a cup, sugar free hot chocolate and V-8 juice. Some options for my day! I also bought a couple of lean pockets again not sure of the calorie/nutrion/Fat but portion controlled. Also I am having problems prepping my foods to bring with me so as I train myself I will find short cuts.
**to help prep to bring get zip lock bags and dishes to tote stuff.**
I did much better with my snacking avenues today. I stopped keeping the candy dish up at the front at the office cause there was never candy for anyone else in it.

NEW VERY IMPORTANT GOAL
My husband I and I met the Friday before 911. He was there for me and my daughter for the most horrible time in history. We planned to wed and moved to Baton Rouge and planned our wedding for New Orleans. I ordered a dress and the wedding package and then we spent 6 days without electricity and watching the world fall apart during Katrina and Rita. wedding plans were set aside for recovery efforts but we ran away for one day and got married. I never wore the dress. It does not fit. I vow to be in my wedding dress by Valentines Day and Chilipepperman has told me he will take me out in that dress. (long deep blue evening dress w/spagetti straps) Now I am using goals of Buttons and Bows

***To avoid commercial temptations at night put in a movie***To avoid temptations at work offer the culprits alternative choices to the temptation. YOu may make their lives better.

I feel pretty good for day 2 and 2 pounds lighter! Button and Bow here I come!

I myself have never been a huge "fast food" fan... but there are definately people out there who just simply LIVE for it.

I know someone who lost 50 pounds SIMPLY by stopping her fast food habit. She was the kind of person who bought breakfast or lunch or dinner from a fast food joint almost every day of the week. And she wasn't ordering the salad with grilled chicken and low fat dressing, if you get my drift!

She just stopped. Bought things at stores, pre-prepped them, and brought food to work and made sure she had something with her or in her car at all times to resist the temptation to drive into the restaurant. No exercise. No otehr changes. Just NO FAST FOOD.

It worked for her. She looks amazing. And she said you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of money she saved doing it too.

If you know your triggers and KNOW you are a fast food junkie, just STOP. Say that it is something you simply cannot have anymore. Just like I can't bring pastries or ice cream or other bad sweets into my house, some people just CAN'T go back into a fast food joint. Really, unless you are planning to get a salad, there is NOTHING on the menu that will be good for you. So just steer clear of the temptation.

Red face I need Weekend Encouragement

Not a good weekend.
Friday Day 3 I had my lean pocket egg and bacon
Salad and a lean pork chop, 7 waters, coffee, tea, boiled shrimp, and drinks.
Saturday I had breakfast out with a friend. Pork chop, hash browns, 2 eggs over easy, water, coffee, M&Ms, Crackers and cheese. Sunday (today) Breakfast out with Hubby. Steak and eggs, hashbrowns coffee water and two slices of toast. OH I feel bad. If you notice my tracker has not moved down any

As chilipepperman and I ate our breakfast we discussed our eating habits. I have always found that we discuss the issue better over a good meal.
Chilipepperman had not fully started the program this week so we have set some goals for ourselves.

Starting Monday Morning January 7, 2008 we will be on "Southbeach". We are going to the rec center today and join so my daughter and myself will start work out tomorrow afternoon. I had noticed that the one thing I was not including was exercise. I plan to go 3-5 days a week and the family will go on the weekend.
chilipepperman and myself have also agreed that next weekend we do a fully weightloss weekend. We do NOT go out to dinner, breakfast, lunch, midnight burger runs or anything else.

I will sit this afternoon and write out my food intake for the week and do prep ahead. We will use Southbeach meals for dinner so that my prep time is not long and I dont get tempted to munch while cooking which is a big issue for me.

Story Time
Those of you who have known Weight Watchers for a while may remember this from long before points. Remember the "scale" and weighing the food. The meetings were always a help and I used lots of the tips given to me. One I remember most vividly was the one for those like me that liked to nibble while they cooked. The suggestion given by the counselor was for a couple of days wear a mask. Take one of those surgical masks or a dust mask and put it on when you start to cook. This way you cant get the food to your mouth. Also, after a day or two LOOK at the mask and all the nasty little stains on it to realize how many times you try to put food in your mouth. I did this. It was REALLY Gross!!!
I have masks here for my asthma so I am putting a few in the kitchen and am doing this again to train myself to keep the food away from my mouth.

Day 5 is not going as planned but watch me on day 6 - 10.

**mini goal**
Break 240 this week.
239 HERE I COME

Thumbs up Here I am Day 6

Well I walked this morning for a little less than 30 minutes. I stayed totally on plan all day and went to the gym and worked out tonight. I had Chilipepperman take my pix so I can have a history of how I look. I just cant wait to stand on the scale tomorrow morning!!!!!! I started the day at 244 so I went all the way back up. Bummer

We had Southbeach dinners and salads tonight. When I was at the gym I did 4 laps on the track at a fast pace. I did the treadmill for 10 minutes and the bike for 10.
Today was stressful at work but I did not waiver from my eating. I did slow up on water a bit but caught up on that this afternoon.

What a good week this will be!

Default I am almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lost 4 pounds. My little chick has moved down the weight tracker. 1 pound to go to meet the goal I set for me for this week of 239. 6 pounds to go to meet my short term goal. I am feeling so good about me. Friday I will test the button. Will it fit? Will it be comfortable? Will I need another week for that? All is good. Tonight I work out and I stick to plan today.

Have a fantastically wonderful awsome day EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Default Dancing Produce Party

I can honestly say I have NEVER had a "Dancing Produce Party" and I like it.

Thanks for my party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom told me today that her niece has an incentive program that she uses. She is a busy mom of young kids and it is hard to excercise. She joined a gym and every time she goes she has a special jar where she puts a dollar for each work out. Then she will have a bit of money put aside for something special after she has worked out for a while and met goals. I am going to start a work out fund.

Have a great healthy weekend everyone
