Hello from a newbie!

    I've just found this site and I am really excited about it! I was all set to go it alone (yet again - been on and off this weight loss on my own so many times) but think I'll do much better with support.

    There are so many forums I'm not sure where to start - can anyone point me in the direction of one where people log their weekly weight loss?

    Looking forward to a new me for the new year!

    There's lots of folks who log weekly, even daily, progress. Tell us a little more about your plan and we'll see if we can direct you. But ... hey, read around ... you never know what you'll find.

    Well I cannot be much help about the forums etc because I am new too! But, I just wanted to say that I am very excited as well. I am a bit self-consious about my weight and don't like to talk a lot about it. But, I feel much more comfortable expressing myself in these forums. I think it will be really encouraging.

    What are your weight loss goals? I found a forum for a goal by Valentine's Day. I hope to lose 10-15 lbs by then. I hope I can make it!

    There is a weekly weigh in thread in the "Weight Loss Support" forum. Most other groups have weekly weigh-ins as well. Alternately, if you're looking for something fun, join one of the ongoing challenges, like the Valentines Challenge mentioned above! That way, you have goals to work toward inside the structure of a weekly weigh in. Our Biggest Loser challenge involves weekly weigh ins, with a competitive team structure. Signups end Jan 5th, so head on over to the "Biggest Loser - Winning by Losing" forum for more info.

  • Thanks everyone - I've had a browse around the forums and will join one of the challenges - definitely think short-term goals will work for me. I think the valentines challenge will be a good one but I'll probably choose 16th Feb as my goal date as its my birthday. I reckon because I'm just starting I could lose a stone (14lbs) in 6 1/2 weeks ( I want to lose 2 stone 9 lbs in total which would take me just within my healthy weight range). Wish me luck!!
