Hey everyone. I am a university student trying to lose weight. The only time I have ever lost weight was on the Atkins diet where I lost about 15 lbs before gaining it right back again. I need to shed these pounds and I am terrified that I will fail. Type 2 diabetes runs in both sides of my family so if I don't get this in control now I am petrified that it will only be a matter of time before my doctor needs to have a chat with me. Right now I have no basis for these fears save for family history but that is just one reason (of many) that I will keep trying to lose weight, no matter what. I hope everyone has a good year and I look forward to meeting you all!
Hi! Don't be afraid of failure--that's how we learn what works and what doesn't. Take baby steps. Maybe one day, substitute an apple for a cookie, for example. Walk a little further another day. You've already taken a step for weight loss by joining 3FatChicks. We're here for ya!
