Default Hi all!

Hello everyone! I actually joined this site the other day and I am hooked so I think it's time to make my official introduction My name is Becky and I am currently a college student in WV. Over the past year I have managed to put on around 50 lbs It's my fault....I had moved in with my boyfriend and began eating like him lol, was in a car wreck and that made it difficult to workout due to pain, and I was constantly busy ( a typical day was 7am-4pm class, 4pm-6pm marching band practice, 7pm-12am work. Sooo tiring) so I also didn't work out and ended up just grabbing something fast before work. This led to me gaining 50 lbs lol. Now I am completely ready to be done with this weight. I am still really in pain from my car wreck but I'm exercising more and trying to eat right.

So yay this is my story hope to make some new friends to help along the way!!!!

Hi Becky, welcome!

Sorry to hear about your car accident. Make sure you're talking to your doctor or whoever is supervising your care about your exercise program, as you certainly don't want to make your pain worse! On the other hand, though, exercise can sometimes help your body heal, and I KNOW that getting proper nutrition is important for healing your body, so way to go on taking this step despite the obstacles.

There are lots of places for support here! look around and keep posting!

Hi Becky, my name is Kym and I am new here too. I had a serious back injury and gained alot of weight too. It`s very important to be sure that you know why you are having pain. Sometimes exercise helps, sometimes it can cause more damage. Don`t mean to sound preachy it`s just that I learned that lesson the hard way.Anyway welcome and Keep posting!!!...Kym

I had gone to physical therapy for 2-3 months and I was better but now it's getting worse.....long story but the side that wasn't hurt that they "fixed" to make me even is hurting a lot.....so I think I need to see a doctor soon. It's getting to the point I pick stuff up with my feet so I don't have to bend over. My mom and dad keep telling me to go so I probably will go tomorrow and see whats going on.

Please Listen to your mom and dad. Your body is trying to tell you something.Don`t ignore it. I did and paid a huge price. You shouldn`t have to live in pain. Good luck tomorrow and please post what happens.Take care of yourself....Kym

Default Update

Well I went to a doctor to see what was going on and they said I needed more physical therapy. Apparently the physical therapy that I had was good enough for the side that was injured but not enough for the side they had to pull out to make my legs even. So here soon (once summer school is over and I have more time) I will start physical therapy again. Hopefully I get the same guy as last time....he was amazing! Soon I might actually be able to touch my toes again
