Default hey there from buffalo!

hi as you can tell i am new and on day 3 of the ir diet and i dont know how well this is going to work,,,i am already ready to jump head first into the window at dairy queen, so after searching, i found this website to keep me on the right side of the window---any tips would be great !

hello , i am brand spanking new to this blog thing. seems great to get to chat with others who have the same issues and feelings. i am 38 married with 3 kids. i am 255 and 5feet 8 inches. my self esteem is horrible. i hate the way i look. i am ashamed and disgusted. horrible to feel this way. anyway i wish you well on your journey. would love to support you if i can . take care

WELCOME TO BOTH OF YOU. I was once 255 back in 2003 and I'm 5' 8" also.
You need to try things until they work. There is no one plan fits all. I can tell you what has worked and will always work for me. My head is now in the right place. I have read two wonderful books, the first was YOU on a diet, which taught me about my body. The second I heard about here at 3fc, Superfoods RX. I will never go back to the obese person I was. Exercise is also a part of my life. I won't go a day without sleep and I won't go a day without exercise. I wish you both the best. Oh I also count calories. It is trial and error to find the right amount to lose weight and you have to change it up or down when you plateau. Have a terrific journey. I learn everyday and I hope you do too.

Welcome to the board!

Try not to jump through windows. All the scratches, cuts, and bruises...not worth it! Try jumping JACKS, jumping ROPE, Mexican jumping beans...

I'm kidding of course, but try to find a hobby that will keep your mind off dieting. Crossword puzzles? Knitting? Jigsaw puzzles? Go for a walk?

hi and welcome! I used to live in WNY, so I am aware of all the temptations! What I wouldn't do for some Bocce pizza!! And some GOOD wings (Duffs, Anchor Bar, etc...)! OY!! Anyway, those foods helped me become overweight and I'm just done with them unless it's a special occasion and then it's only a "taste".

Dairy Queen=Dead Quick. Back away... and go to Tops or Wegman's and get a healthy snack! You can do this and don't give up!
